Took the kids to Ashenbank Woods this bank holiday afternoon, We kind of got lost, which was pretty cool, but I was looking for spring butterflies and didn’t see one – not a single one. Found a couple of longhorn moths though, including this little one that settled on a flower of lady’s smock, and a larger, plain  brown one that I did not manage to photograph. There are some nice wild flowers appearing though. This red campion was particularly resplendent, and almost glowing against the backdrop of green.
